In May 2019, we took a trip to the mall for the first time to check the location and receive feedback. After the visit, some changes had to be made to the box. This included painting the inside of the box, purchasing a new stand, changing the display position to the side, editing the email system, and adding a magnet to the door to keep it closed and prevent it from opening by itself.

On June 27th, the box was taken to New York and to the mall parking lot, where it was demonstrated during the Jefferson Valley Mall's Sunset Market. At this event, community members came up to learn more about the box, from where it was going to be placed to the technical specifications of the electronics. Throughout the event, canned items were donated into buckets which were used to help fill the box for the first time.

Right after the Sunset Market, the box was taken up to the second floor of the mall and set up for the first time. It was loaded with more than fifty cans that were collected during the market or that were purchased beforehand. After checking to see if the computer within the box could be accessed remotely from an external laptop, the Food Pantry Box was finally finished being installed and ready to collect and give donations.
